Movie Review: Wall-E (12/27)…

One word: Burn-E. That to me was the best part of the whole movie. The bonus short film added to the DVD release of “Wall-E.” In other words, I was not impressed by the movie. It had beautiful (and I mean gorgeous) animation. Some of the best that I have seen. But the story: not so much. Yes, there was some social commentary (and one of the people that I watched it with yesterday noticed it right away. His exact words were: “I don’t know if I like the social commentary.”), but nothing that hasn’t been said in live-action films, and maybe said better. Once it was over, all I could think about was the animation. The movie didn’t move me, or impress me in terms of thought or emotion. So, would I recommend this movie: No. Would I watch it again: no. Maybe someone would like it but I didn’t. I would watch Burn-E again though.

Best Movie Ever: Tropic Thunder (8/24)…

OMG (I hate using all of the internet/texting/kewl lingo), this movie is the best movie I have ever seen. I cried at one point i was laughing so much.
SPOILER ALERT: The scene where the director gets blown up: GENIUS! I actually reacted out loud in the movie theater. Thankfully there were only 15 or so souls in there. They laughed at my reaction. Too cool.

I am going to have to see the movie again. I am just so damn impressed by this movie. If it doesn’t win an Academy Award, the voters are full retard. 🙂
