gawd, how did this year escape us? We were doing so well, and then all of a sudden the bottom fell out. We will make the playoffs as the Wild Card, but don’t think we have it in us to make the WS. Hate to think that the Yankees are going to win their 27th WS.

since i last posted. I guess I don’t have as much to say as I thought I did. I started this blog three years ago with the intent to be the new Daily Kos (but from an independent viewpoint) , but it turns out I don’t have it in me to be a political analyst or keep up on all the minutia of the washington, d.c. crowd.

So, I think I will go back to the 2nd reason I started this blog: to journal my struggle with Crohn’s Disease, as well as my very boring (read: VERY BORING) everyday existence.

So much to say and catch up with: my Crohn’s is back, and might be worse than before. No surgery yet, but Humira is in the near future. And I dislocated my shoulder again. Great. And this time it wasn’t anything as interesting as playing baseball with my son: i was leaning back in my chair relaxing and it dislocated.

I am starting class 7 of 12 for my Master’s class. It is “Planetary Science” and is fun so far. It is stuff I used to teach in Earth Science, so it is review pretty much.

We still have that furball Isabelle. She is terrorizing all the other cats in the house, and royally pissing off Stephanie, who wants to turn her into Kitty Tamales.

My youngest son has his own blog now (how very 21st century is he – soon he will be more advanced than me). Visit “greatgamer.wordpress.com”. Again, realize that this is a 9 year old running the blog, so don’t expect too much.

I just discovered this album even though it has been around for over a decade: Rage Against the Machine. Awesome. Their guitarist is quite good. He does some really neat tricks with his axe. The first song I listened to on this album was “Killing in the Name” and really liked it, especially it’s repetitive use of “fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me.” You can definitely tell that they have a very leftist tilt after listening to half the songs on the album. And i mean leftist, not just progressive/Democratic. It is very leftist, but enjoyable to listen to.

OK, once again, time for more kitty blogging with the usual cute cat, but tonight a special guest: Puffalump. Puffalump is the orange cat in the picture and she has taken to becoming Queen Isabelle’s “mother”. Even though Puff is spayed (or is it neutered?; i can never remember which is which), and is 3 years old, once Izzy came into the house, Puff took right over as her guardian/protector/play pal. They really have fun playing and wrestling with each other, and after a good match they then lick each other all over and do it again. Very cute.

One word: Burn-E. That to me was the best part of the whole movie. The bonus short film added to the DVD release of “Wall-E.” In other words, I was not impressed by the movie. It had beautiful (and I mean gorgeous) animation. Some of the best that I have seen. But the story: not so much. Yes, there was some social commentary (and one of the people that I watched it with yesterday noticed it right away. His exact words were: “I don’t know if I like the social commentary.”), but nothing that hasn’t been said in live-action films, and maybe said better. Once it was over, all I could think about was the animation. The movie didn’t move me, or impress me in terms of thought or emotion. So, would I recommend this movie: No. Would I watch it again: no. Maybe someone would like it but I didn’t. I would watch Burn-E again though.

So my boys got enough money from relatives, chores, allowance, gift cards, etc. that they could buy themselves a game system. (Which i find funny because my wife said that we would NEVER have a game system unless it was a Wii that we could do exercise stuff with.) My youngest really wanted an xbox so he could get the game Battlefront 2 and become the grand champion online, but, alas, they ended up getting a Nintendo Game Cube.
